Shipping & Packing

How I pack a 78

Shellac records are fragile, but packed properly they travel the world safely. Every disc is sleeved, sandwiched between rigid boards and shipped in a heavy double-wall record mailer — never a thin "pizza box". Cylinders and especially fragile pressings get extra cushioning. After 35+ years of shipping 78s I take this seriously.

Shipping & postage

I ship worldwide using tracked services and I always combine postage on multiple wins. Please wait for my invoice before paying — the invoice sets the final packed weight and the exact shipping cost for your address.

Rough shipping costs

A guide only — the invoice has the exact figure. Costs rise with the number of discs (weight) and the destination:

  • UK: from ~£5 for a single 78, tracked.
  • Europe: from ~£12–18 for a few discs, tracked.
  • USA / rest of world: from ~£18–30 for a few discs, tracked.

Larger boxes work out cheaper per record, which is why combining wins is always worth it.

Holding records

Happy to hold won lots for a larger combined box. All held records must be paid for once invoiced.

About these terms

These terms govern your use of adrem78 and any purchase of records by auction or fixed price ("Set Sale"). By bidding or buying you accept them. Our business details are on the Legal information page.

Accounts

You must register and be approved before bidding. Keep your details accurate and your login secure.

Bidding & auctions

  • Bids are binding offers. We use maximum (proxy) bidding: you set your top price and the system bids on your behalf up to it.
  • Bids placed near the close may extend a lot's end time (anti-snipe).
  • The highest bid at close wins; we then invoice you for your won lots plus combined shipping.

Set Sale (fixed price)

Set Sale records are sold at the listed price while available.

Payment

Please wait for our invoice, then pay using the details on it and quote your invoice number as the reference. Records are dispatched once payment clears.

Shipping

See our Shipping & Packing page. The exact shipping cost is set on your invoice.

Condition & grading

Records are graded honestly using standard 78 RPM grading. They are vintage items sold as described — please read each description and ask before bidding.

Returns & cancellation

Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected. [SET OUT YOUR RETURNS / CANCELLATION POLICY HERE. Distance-selling cancellation rights and any auction exemption should be confirmed with a solicitor.]

Liability

Nothing here limits liability where it cannot lawfully be limited; otherwise our liability is limited to the price paid for the record.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

Changes

We may update these terms; the current version is always shown here.
